Foreword<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Organizer of the competition \u2013 Zdru\u017eenie prvov\u00fdrobcov a spracovate\u013eov surov\u00edn na v\u00fdrobu liehu, v\u00fdrobcov liehu a destil\u00e1tov, ako aj \u010fal\u0161\u00edch potravin\u00e1rskych komod\u00edt zo Spi\u0161a (hereinafter the \u201eZdru\u017eenie Spi\u0161), and the co-organizer \u2013 Slovensk\u00fd R\u00e1d rytierov destil\u00e1tov SK o.z.- invite you to attend this exceptional event of distillate producers and sellers from all destinations.<\/p>\n<p><br>The competition will take place at the region Spi\u0161, town Star\u00e1 \u013dubov\u0148a, the Slovak Republic.<\/p>\n<p>The competition aim is to pay attention primarily to distillates from the countries under the Carpathian Mountains that share the common historical, cultural, \u201edistillation\u201d and gastronomy traditions.<\/p>\n<p>However, the competition is open for distillates from the whole world. It gives opportunity to compare distillates from various regions that differ from one another because of soil and climatic conditions, as well as variability of fermentation and distillation processing methods.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><strong>II. Organizer of competition<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><br>Association Spi\u0161 is an organizer and promoter of the competition.<\/p>\n<p>For purpose of promotion and competition realization, the Organizer shall appoint the Organizational Board chaired by the competition President. Ing. Radko Jur\u00e1k was appointed a competition President.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>III. Competitors and applications<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><br>Any person is allowed to participate on the competition, be it producer or merchant, and all distillates from all world destinations can be registered in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The competitors shall register the samples on the Application Form (Application for Competition) available on the website www.carpathianquality.com and send it to the stated e-mail address. Filled in application shall be automatically sent to the stated contact e-mail address that should be then printed out and sent to the post address of the Spi\u0161 Association together with the samples. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The following information is required for registration of samples:<\/p>\n<p><br>1\/ identification of competitor (producer or merchant): commercial name, registered office, company ID and VAT ID, contact, (email address and phone No.) to PR manager <br>2\/ identification of registered distillate: trade name\/ brand, vintage, volume percentage and the country of origin <br>3\/ identification of distillate variety\u00a0 <br>4\/ classification in category according to Article VIII. of the Statute<\/p>\n<p>\/ eventually other additional information.<br><br><\/p>\n<h2><strong>IV. Competition samples<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Competitor \u2013 alcohol distillery shall submit two bottles of volume 0.5 liters to the Organizer\u00b4s ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Competitor- cultivation distillery and natural person shall submit one bottle of volume 0.5 liters to the Organizer\u00b4s ownership; both subjects will do so in person or via prepaid delivery to the address:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zdru\u017eenie Spi\u0161<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pre\u0161ovsk\u00e1 8, 064 01 Star\u00e1 \u013dubov\u0148a, Slovensk\u00e1 republika<\/p>\n<p><br>All competition samples of the distilleries shall be attached with label similar to the one present during product launching on the market. Particular samples should come from a\u00a0series batch of volume at least 100 liters. However, the organizer can permit registration of samples corresponding to smaller volumes in case of distillates from small distilleries, or in case of specific styles produced in small volumes, or if they come from valuable cultures\/ plants.<\/p>\n<p>The organizer has right not to register or exclude from the competition the samples delivered after the official deadline or if they don\u00b4t correspond to the Statute, the nature or the standards of the competition. The samples of distillates that weren\u00b4t registered in the competition \/ were excluded can be taken over at the Organizer in person and the competitor\/s will be notified via e-mail on the reasons of failed registration in\/ exclusion from the competition.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>V. Registration fee<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Alcohol distilleries are required to pay a registration fee of \u20ac100 to participate. The fee includes 1 to 4 samples. Each additional sample costs \u20ac20. The fee can be settled in cash upon delivery of the samples or via wire transfer on the bank account.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>CULTIVATION DISTILLERIES AND NATURAL PERSONS ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE REGISTRATION FEE.<\/p>\n<p>The Organizer shall issue the invoice for the competitor, based on the samples registration. Payment associated cost will be borne by the competitors and they are also responsible for depositing the whole registration fee amount on the Organizer\u00b4s bank account. <br>The Organizer has right to exclude a\u00a0competitor\u00b4s samples from the competition if the competitor has failed to settle the registration fee within the deadline.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>VI. Evaluation of samples<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><br>Distillates are evaluated in sensory analysis, using 100-point system.<\/p>\n<p>The following criterions are applied during evaluation: <br>\u2022 image: cleanliness and image<br>\u2022 direct sensing by nose: cleanliness, positive intensity and quality of aroma <br>\u2022 sending in mouth: cleanliness, positive intensity, persistence and quality of taste <br>\u2022 overall harmony<br><br>The following qualifications are assigned to the evaluated properties, separate per each distillate: excellent, very good, good, acceptable, unacceptable.<\/p>\n<p>These are quantified by assignment of points in the evaluation table so as overall mark could serve to the comparison of distillates within the competition. Distillate with top rating in all evaluated parameters can reach 100 points.<\/p>\n<p>Hypothetical zero rating (40 points) will result in the elimination of a wholly unacceptable distillate. Resulting rating of a\u00a0distillate by the jury represents a\u00a0weighted average of all jurors\u00b4 marks following the elimination of the values on both ends. <br><br><\/p>\n<p>Organizer of the competition shall archive the rating sheets from all jurors for at least two years from the competition date in the form of printed summary signed by professional sponsor of the competition, chairmen of the jury or particular jurors, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>VII. Structure and activity of evaluation committees\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><br>Organization Board of the competition will appoint at least three- to five-member tasting committees comprising the distillate specialists. Each committee will be chaired by a\u00a0prestigious taster\/ enologist, or generally recognized distillate specialist, whose task will be to coordinate the committee activity and supervise correct evaluation of the presented samples.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For promotion purposes, the Organization Board can establish also parallel tasting committee amongst the sponsors, journalists and other people \u2013 distillate enthusiasts. Their evaluations will, however, be only informative.<\/p>\n<p>Distillate category and vintage will be declared to all jurors including chairmen of the committees.\u00a0 Evaluation shall be strictly anonymous.<\/p>\n<p>The samples with assigned competition number shall be presented one after another in the optimal time sequence as fully covered in order to conceal their identification.<\/p>\n<p>The competition will start with so called light distillates and followed by traditional distillates, non-traditional distillates, so called dessert distillates, grain distillates and finally genevas and gins.<\/p>\n<p>Calibration sample that the Organization Board assigned overall rating before the competition commencement shall be presented to the jurors before the evaluation day. The calibration serves to setting the criterions and harmonization of rating by particular jurors and committees.<\/p>\n<p>For purpose of promotion and competition realization, the Organizer shall appoint the Organizational Board chaired by the competition President. Ing. Radko Jur\u00e1k was appointed a competition President.<\/p>\n<p>Distillates registered in the competition shall be presented for evaluation at temperatures within 16 &#8211; 20\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>VIII. Competition categories<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> category \u2013 Distillates supplied by cultivators, distilleries and natural persons <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Category A \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Slivovica (Plum Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category B \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Hru\u0161kovica (Pear Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category C \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Marhu\u013eovica and Brosky\u0148ovica (Apricot and Peach Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category D \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Jablkovica (Apple Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category E \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; \u010cere\u0161\u0148ovica and Vi\u0161\u0148ovica (Cherry and Sour Cherry Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category F \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Grape\/ wine distillates<\/p>\n<p>Category G \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Other fruits<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>category \u2013 Distillates supplied by distilleries for distillates (commercially launched on the market)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Category A \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Slivovica (Plum Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category B \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Hru\u0161kovica (Pear Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category C \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Marhu\u013eovica and Brosky\u0148ovica (Apricot and Peach Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category D \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Jablkovica (Apple Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category E \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; \u010cere\u0161\u0148ovica and Vi\u0161\u0148ovica (Cherry and Sour Cherry Brandy)<\/p>\n<p>Category F \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Grape\/ wine distillates<\/p>\n<p>Category G \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Other fruits<\/p>\n<p>Category H \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Grain distillates<\/p>\n<p>Category I\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; Borovi\u010dka ( Geneva) and\u00a0Gin<\/p>\n<h2><strong>IX. Processing of results and prize awards <\/strong><br><br><\/h2>\n<p>Resulting allocation of points to a\u00a0sample in the competition refers to average value after elimination of the end values, rounded to two decimal points.<\/p>\n<p>Prize award limits of points are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Golden Distillate &#8211; golden diploma:\u00a0 93 \u2013 98 points<br>Silver Distillate &#8211; silver diploma: 89 \u2013 92.99 points<\/p>\n<p>Bronze Distillate &#8211; bronze diploma: 85 \u2013 88.99 points<\/p>\n<p><br>Further awards in the competition \u201eCarpathian Quality\u201c:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Champion Carpathian Quality<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0special final round of evaluation where at least three but max. five top rated distillates move up within particular category, which concurrently reached at least 98 points, will decide about this prize award.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Winner of Category <\/strong>\u2013 distillate with highest point rating in particular category.\u00a0 <br><br><\/p>\n<p><strong>Carpathian Quality Trophy-<\/strong> awarded GINS and GENEVAS. The winners of the final round of the competition will became the prizewinners, similar to the prize award Champion Carpathian Quality. <br><br><strong>The best of Carpathian Quality<\/strong>&#8211; Top rated distillate registered by a\u00a0member the Association Spi\u0161 will receive the Challenge Cup.<\/p>\n<p>In case of equal points reached during determination of the winner of particular category, distillate will be awarded that has reached the highest average of points (highest and lowest rating) from all jurors. If equal number of points is reached anyway, the winner of particular category will be announced ex \u2013 aequo.<\/p>\n<p>Organizer will have right to announce further prize awards based on the definition published in advance.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><strong>X. Marketing and PR<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Information about the competition and the results will be published on website www.carpathianquality.com , on social networks, through media partners, PR communication and distribution of newsletter via e-mailing so as the broadest publicity of the competition and the awarded distillates was ensured.<\/p>\n<p>The Organizer shall announce the place and exact time of prize awards ceremony on its website and via e-mail to all competitors, media and promotion partners. <br>The Organizer will use the distillates not used in the competition for presentation and promotion of the competition at official events, or provide them to scientific and educational institutions for purposes of investigation and teaching.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><br>XI. Final provisions<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Competitor accepts the Statute when applying for participation on the competition and commits to proceed in compliance with the Statute provisions. <br>Organizer has an exclusive right to amend or specify the Statute based on annotations and the needs in effect at the time being.<\/p>\n<p>In case of small amount of registered competition samples in particular category (less than 10 distillates), the Organizer will have right to join together the category\/ categories with the closest category. In such case, prize\/s will be awarded jointly for both categories. Distillate with top rating in all evaluated parameters can reach 100 points.<\/p> <p>Hypothetical zero rating (40 points) will result in the elimination of a wholly unacceptable distillate. Resulting rating of a\u00a0distillate by the jury represents a\u00a0weighted average of all jurors\u00b4 marks following the elimination of the values on both ends. <br><br><\/p> <p>Organizer of the competition shall archive the rating sheets from all jurors for at least two years from the competition date in the form of printed summary signed by professional sponsor of the competition, chairmen of the jury or particular jurors, respectively.<\/p> <p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p> <h2><strong>VII. Structure and activity of evaluation committees\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2> <p><br>Organization Board of the competition will appoint at least three- to five-member tasting committees comprising the distillate specialists. Each committee will be chaired by a\u00a0prestigious taster\/ enologist, or generally recognized distillate specialist, whose task will be to coordinate the committee activity and supervise correct evaluation of the presented samples.\u00a0<\/p> <p>For promotion purposes, the Organization Board can establish also parallel tasting committee amongst the sponsors, journalists and other people \u2013 distillate enthusiasts. Their evaluations will, however, be only informative.<\/p> <p>Distillate category and vintage will be declared to all jurors including chairmen of the committees.\u00a0 Evaluation shall be strictly anonymous.<\/p> <p>The samples with assigned competition number shall be presented one after another in the optimal time sequence as fully covered in order to conceal their identification.<\/p> <p>The competition will start with so called light distillates and followed by traditional distillates, non-traditional distillates, so called dessert distillates, grain distillates and finally genevas and gins.<\/p> <p>Calibration sample that the Organization Board assigned overall rating before the competition commencement shall be presented to the jurors before the evaluation day. The calibration serves to setting the criterions and harmonization of rating by particular jurors and committees.<\/p> <p>For purpose of promotion and competition realization, the Organizer shall appoint the Organizational Board chaired by the competition President. Ing. Radko Jur\u00e1k was appointed a competition President.<\/p> <p>Distillates registered in the competition shall be presented for evaluation at temperatures within 16 - 20\u00b0C.<\/p> <h2><strong>VIII. Processing of results and prize awards <\/strong><br><br><\/h2> <p>Resulting allocation of points to a\u00a0sample in the competition refers to average value after elimination of the end values, rounded to two decimal points.<\/p> <p>Prize award limits of points are as follows:<\/p> <p>Golden Distillate - golden diploma:\u00a0 93 \u2013 98 points<br>Silver Distillate - silver diploma: 89 \u2013 92.99 points<\/p> <p>Bronze Distillate - bronze diploma: 85 \u2013 88.99 points<\/p> <p><br>Further awards in the competition \u201eCarpathian Quality\u201c:<\/p> <p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p> <p><strong>Champion Carpathian Quality<\/strong><\/p> <p>A\u00a0special final round of evaluation where at least three but max. five top rated distillates move up within particular category, which concurrently reached at least 98 points, will decide about this prize award.<\/p> <p><strong>Winner of Category <\/strong>\u2013 distillate with highest point rating in particular category.\u00a0 <br><br><\/p> <p><strong>Carpathian Quality Trophy-<\/strong> awarded GINS and GENEVAS. The winners of the final round of the competition will became the prizewinners, similar to the prize award Champion Carpathian Quality. <br><br><strong>The best of Carpathian Quality<\/strong>- Top rated distillate registered by a\u00a0member the Association Spi\u0161 will receive the Challenge Cup.<\/p> <p>In case of equal points reached during determination of the winner of particular category, distillate will be awarded that has reached the highest average of points (highest and lowest rating) from all jurors. If equal number of points is reached anyway, the winner of particular category will be announced ex \u2013 aequo.<\/p> <p>Organizer will have right to announce further prize awards based on the definition published in advance.<\/p> <h2>\u00a0<\/h2> <h2><strong>X. Marketing and PR<\/strong><\/h2> <p>Information about the competition and the results will be published on website www.carpathianquality.com , on social networks, through media partners, PR communication and distribution of newsletter via e-mailing so as the broadest publicity of the competition and the awarded distillates was ensured.<\/p> <p>The Organizer shall announce the place and exact time of prize awards ceremony on its website and via e-mail to all competitors, media and promotion partners. <br>The Organizer will use the distillates not used in the competition for presentation and promotion of the competition at official events, or provide them to scientific and educational institutions for purposes of investigation and teaching.<\/p> <h2><strong><br>XI. Final provisions<\/strong><\/h2> <p>Competitor accepts the Statute when applying for participation on the competition and commits to proceed in compliance with the Statute provisions. <br>Organizer has an exclusive right to amend or specify the Statute based on annotations and the needs in effect at the time being.<\/p> <p>In case of small amount of registered competition samples in particular category (less than 10 distillates), the Organizer will have right to join together the category\/ categories with the closest category. In such case, prize\/s will be awarded jointly for both categories.
